The higher the star rating the more energy efficient the heater, meaning greater annual savings on your running costs.
On average an increase of one star means an average usage savings of approximately 10 percent
If you plan on staying in your home a while it is advisable to install a 5- or 6-star unit based on the great savings to be made when it comes to running costs
Government rebates are also available on some change overs when you decide to upgrade to a high efficiency unit.
